Be a Part of Our Strong Team!

To complement our academic team, from 1 October 2025 or later, a

Professorship for Business Informatics

is to be filled, initially part-time (50 – 75%).

We are seeking a candidate who combines a strong academic profile – evidenced by a doctoral degree – with practical experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Digital strategy and transformation
  • Business process management and ERP systems
  • Programming and software engineering
  • Data analysis and databases
  • Fundamentals of business informatics

Further subjects may be shaped within the innovative development of the curriculum. Competence in general business administration is also desirable. We place great emphasis on outstanding didactics and innovative, digital teaching methods. Ideally, you will have proven experience of teaching in higher education, documented by excellent evaluations. A willingness to engage in research within the stated focus area is expected; academic publications and/or externally funded projects are advantageous.

Applicants must be prepared to deliver information‑systems modules and be able and willing to teach in both English and German. Given HSBA’s pronounced practical orientation, relevant professional experience in one of the fields listed above is essential.

Remuneration is commensurate with industry standards. A minimum of five years’ professional experience – including at least three years outside the higher‑education sector – is required.

At HSBA you will find a challenging and varied range of duties with considerable autonomy, a friendly team, flexible working hours and a modern workplace offering scope for initiative and long‑term prospects in the heart of Hamburg.

We value diversity and therefore welcome all applications – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion or worldview, disability, age, as well as sexual orientation and identity. Under HSBA’s equal‑opportunities policy, women with equivalent qualifications will be given preferential consideration. If you have any questions, the chair of the HSBA appointment committee, Professor Dr Kamyar Sarshar, will be pleased to assist you at Kamyar.Sarshar(at)hsba.de.

We look forward to receiving your application documents (merged into one PDF file) by 22 June 2025 by e-mail to bewerbung(at)hsba.de.
