Dr. Baktas Dost

Dr. Baktas Dost began his doctoral studies in October 2021 as an external doctoral candidate in the “Department of Strategy & Leadership” at the Chair of Family Businesses under Prof. Dr. Peter Klein and completed them in July 2026 with the successful defense of his dissertation. His dissertation was titled “Management Accounting and Management Control in Family Businesses: How Ownership Structures Affect Performance Measurement and Reporting.”

While studying business administration, Dr. Dost gained international experience. He spent semesters abroad at Marmara University in Istanbul and rounded out his profile with several stays abroad. He began his career in auditing; after holding various positions in group controlling at several DAX-listed companies, he joined a long-established and renowned family-owned business in Hamburg. There, as “Head of Group Finance & Controlling,” he is responsible for global reporting, planning, budgeting, and group management. In addition, he serves as a lecturer in finance and controlling.

Dr. Dost is married and has a son and a daughter. His passions include motorcycles, classic cars, basketball, and music.
