Dr Baktas Dost

Dr. Baktas Dost began his doctoral studies in October 2021as an external doctoral candidate in the Department of Strategy & Leadership at the Chair of Family Business under Prof Dr. Peter Klein, completing them in July 2026 with the successful defence of his dissertation. His doctoral research addressed the topic "Management Accounting and Management Control in Family Businesses: How Ownership Structure Affects Performance Measurement and Reporting."

During his studies in Business Administration, Dr. Dost gained extensive international experience, completing a semester abroad at Marmara University in Istanbul and further broadening his profile through several stays abroad. He began his career in auditing and, after various positions in the group controlling functions of several DAX-listed companies, settled at a long-established and renowned family business in Hamburg. There, as Head of Group Finance & Controlling, he is responsible for global reporting, planning and budgeting, as well as the overall steering of the group. In addition, he works as a lecturer in Finance & Controlling.

Dr. Dost is married and has a son and a daughter. Beyond his family, his passions include motorcycles, classic cars, basketball, and music.
