Financial Analysis and Equity-Based Compensation

Inaugural lecture by Prof. Dr. Daniel Geister

Since 2024, Daniel Geister has been a professor for applied methods in finance, accounting, and auditing. He has many years of teaching experience in the fields of finance and controlling. Thanks to his professional experience in leadership positions at global industrial companies, his lectures combine business theory with modern financial instruments and the corporate practices of internationally active corporations.

Today, equity-based compensation is one of the largest cost blocks for many companies, especially in the tech industry. However, there is little agreement on its effects on financial performance. The complexity of both the accounting for equity-based compensation and its disclosure in financial statements leads to systematic differences in the representation of results and the financial situation of companies.

In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Daniel Geister will use case studies to demonstrate ways to correct distortions and thus create transparency and comparability, so that investors can make more informed decisions.

The lecture will be held in German.

We look forward to your participation.
