Summer School on Maritime & Logistics Programme

General Information

During the HSBA Summer School you will take part in 68 hours of lectures including case studies and guest lectures. The Summer School furthermore includes a high-level panel discussion, case assignments, visits to partner companies of HSBA, a cultural programme and the possibility to connect with other HSBA students who will also be on campus. All courses as well as the extracurricular activities take place in English.

The workload of the Summer School in total is 90 hours, which is equivalent to 3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) or approx. 1,5 US credit points. After successfully preparing and completing a final presentation on a business case, you will receive an HSBA certificate, which will specify your workload and your newly-gained qualifications.

Course Information

This Summer School provides basic insights into Ship Management, Maritime Law and Logistics. Hamburg is host to one of the most significant maritime clusters globally. The course will feature practical insights through company visits with a focus on Digital Transformation and possible innovative disruptions.

HSBA with its deep roots in the maritime and logistics environment will discuss recent developments in these business areas by taking regional, national and international specificities into account. 

Grading and Transcript

Regular attendance and active participation in all courses is required. At the end of the programme you will receive a transcript confirming your successful completion of the course as well as a transcript of your grades. It will depend on your home university whether the credits and the grades earned at HSBA will be acknowledged towards your final degree.
