Study Profile

The MBA in Corporate Management is an applied study programme in the field of business. The study programme takes a generalist approach and teaches the fundamentals of business administration. It deals with issues related to developing and implementing corporate strategies. In the second year of study, students have the opportunity to choose a specialisation in Digital Marketing & E-Business, Financial Markets & Risk Management or Strategic Management.

Highlights of the Study Course

The MBA Corporate Management is perfect for young professionals from a wide range of academic backgrounds who wish to enhance their management skills.

Focused course contents
The study programme takes a broad approach to teaching fundamental management knowledge and methods for business. The programme focusses on Internationality, Business Ethics, and Governance. Theoretical and analytical knowledge together with case studies and examples from practise offer the opportunity to put the theoretical learnings into practice.

Best Faculty
At HSBA, high-quality teaching is of central importance. Our full-time professors are academics (minimum Ph.D.) and have professional experience of at least five years. Their in-class performance is continuously observed with a special focus on didactical competences and proficiency in English.

Accredited quality of the study programme and the university
The study programme is accredited by the FIBAA. Furthermore, the German Council of Science and Humanities has granted HSBA institutional accreditation and certified the university’s high quality of teaching and research.

Students have the opportunity to specialise in Digital Marketing & E-Business, Financial Markets & Risk Management or Strategic Management in the second study year. This decision means that up to one-third of the study programme can be structured as a specialisation.

Internationality is an essential component of a balanced course offering, particularly in Hamburg, a city that sees itself as the gateway to the world.

The MBA Corporate Management is entirely taught in English. This also allows international students access to the study course.

A special highlight is the one-week study trip abroad. The students get to choose from the following destinations:

  • Silicon Valley
  • Brussels
  • London
  • Hamburg/Berlin

The Master’s students benefit from a special mentoring programme of the Versammlung Eines Ehrbaren Kaufmanns zu Hamburg and the established network of HSBA and Hamburg’s Chamber of Commerce.

Mentoring Programme of the Versammlung Eines Ehrbaren Kaufmanns zu Hamburg e.V. (VEEK)
As part of the mentoring programme members and partners of VEEK (The Honourable Society of Hamburg Merchants, an association of more than 1,000 entrepreneurs) accompany the HSBA Master’s students on their path to the management levels of business.

Access to Networks
For business success, networks are of essential importance. Core of the networks are the master's students themselves and more than 1.000 alumni of HSBA. Additionally, HSBA intensively cooperates with more than 250 companies and  HSBA's Friends and Sponsors' association.

The bright and friendly atmosphere and modern technical equipment at the City Campus and the Commerzbibliothek library give students the best possible conditions for learning.
Less information

At HSBA students find optimal learning conditions with small study groups. Our facilities are state-of-the-art (rooms, literature, databases) and our campus is welcoming. During their studies, students receive academic support from teaching staff and support in all other issues from management. Low dropout rates and high levels of satisfaction of students are the result of this concept.

Hamburg, the waterfront city, is one of the world’s safest big cities and an extremely attractive place to live, work and study. The mix of economic potential and a good quality of life makes Hamburg one of Europe’s most dynamic business regions. With the Inner Alster lake in the centre of the city, countless parks and green spaces, its proximity to two oceans, a large range of diverse leisure activities and excellent shopping, Hamburg is one of the top ten city destinations in Europe and a popular place to live and study. The high quality of life is also due to the fact that Hamburg is one of the safest cities in the world.
