On May 10th, 2017 more than 140 experts joined the conference „G20 – Leadership for Sustainable Business?“ hosted by Hamburg School of Business Administration and the Chamber of Commerce Hamburg. The conference addressed the upcoming G20 leaders meeting in Hamburg in early July and it raised the questions of how G20 can contribute to the promotion and implementation of sustainable business practice in the global economy.

Dr. Jürgen Meyer Best Paper Award
Business Ethics & Sustainability

für exzellente Bachelorarbeiten, Masterarbeiten sowie Publikationen im Rahmen von Dissertationen.

Der Preis ist in diesem Jahr mit 1000€ dotiert. 

Herausragenden Arbeiten von Studierenden oder Promovierenden der HSBA aus dem Jahr 2017 (Datum des Studienabschlusses: November 2016 - Oktober 2017; bei Promotionen Zeitpunkt der Publikation/ Annahme zur Publikation durch ein Journal) in den Bereichen Business Ethics und Sustainability können bis zum 15. Dezember von den jeweiligen Erstgutachterinnen und Erstgutachtern (bei Promotionen HSBA Betreuer/innen) vorgeschlagen werden. Bitte senden Sie den Namen der Kandidatin/des Kandidaten, den Titel, das Abstract und die Gutachten zur der Arbeit sowie die vollständigen und aktuellen Kontaktdaten der Kandidatin/des Kandidaten per E-Mail an Prof. Dr. Sarah Jastram. Nur Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten mit vollständig eingereichten Unterlagen können bei der Preisausschreibung berücksichtigt werden. Bei mehreren Einreichungen entscheiden die Themenpassung, die Qualität der Arbeit (Note), der Innovationsgrad sowie die Relevanz des Themas für die Unternehmenspraxis.

Die Jury besteht aus: 

  • Prof. Dr. Sarah Jastram, Lehrstuhl für Internationale Wirtschaftsethik und Nachhaltigkeit, HSBA,
  • Prof. Dr. Stefan Prigge, Unternehmensrechnung und Unternehmensfinanzierung, HSBA,
  • und einem weiteren Mitglied aus der Unternehmenspraxis.
  • Die akademische Qualität der Arbeit wird per Notengebung durch die Gutachter/innen bestimmt.

What do companies need to prepare for?“ (in German) on Tuesday, 26 July 2016, 6 – 8 pm at the Chamber of Commerce InnovationsCampus, Adolphsplatz 6, 20457 Hamburg.

The EURAM conference is one of the most important European Management Conferences. Prof. Dr. Sarah Jastram will be there to present her study on June 4th 2016 about "Sustainable Supply Chain Management in Ghana", which was carried out together with Hedda Ofoole Knoll. The study will also be presented on May 28th, 2016 at the GRONEN conference in Hamburg.

Dirk Matten (York University, Toronto), Joachim Schwalbach (HU Berlin), Oliver Schollmeyer (BDI), Bernhard Schwager (BOSCH), and Sarah Jastram (HSBA)discuss challenges and possibilities for business ethics in a globalised economy.

Expert consultations on the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights have commenced.

On June 24, 2015 Prof. Dr. Sarah Jastram participated in the Federal Goverment's expert hearing under the leadership of the Foreign Ministry in the House of German Business, Berlin, to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

HSBA Summer School on "CSR Management – Corporate Social Responsibility in a Globalised World" takes place between 27 July to 7 August 2015.

Prof. Dr. Sarah Jastram delivered a lecture on "Governing Corporate Social Responsibility within International Value Chains" at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on April 24, 2015.

On April 9th, 2015 Professor Sarah Jastram held a lecture concerning "The efficiency of CSR-Governance-Instruments" at the FH Wien within their CGBE Lecture Series.
