HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration does particularly well in the latest university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), now available online at ZEIT CAMPUS.
The business administration and business informatics undergraduate degree students rate their institution above average. In business administration, the university is named in the respective top group in 11 out of 15 categories, in business informatics this is the case in 8 out of 13 categories, making HSBA one of the best dual higher education institutions in a Germany-wide comparison.
"We are very pleased with this result. It is a wonderful acknowledgement of our work and shows that our efforts to constantly adjust our studies, teaching and research are successful," explains Prof. Dr. Insa Sjurts, President of Hamburg School of Business Administration. "The move to our new campus at the end of May will enable us to also significantly improve our services for students, particularly in terms of premises and IT infrastructure. An important feel-good factor for us all!"
The CHE ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of universities in the German-speaking world and includes facts about studies, teaching, equipment and research as well as the students' assessment of the study conditions at their institutions.
HSBA scores very well in the comprehensive student survey: In the business administration programmes HSBA is in the top group with 9 out of 11 areas, in business informatics 7 out of 10 areas were given top marks. Students give above-average marks for the general study situation, the range of courses, the administration, the supervision by lecturers and the dovetailing of theoretical and practical phases. The university was able to achieve a significant improvement in the areas of linking theory and practice, examinations, support during studies and supervision by lecturers. It should also be noted that 99.5% of undergraduate degree students complete their studies within the standard period of study.
All in all, HSBA as dual university of applied sciences is placed first for business informatics in a nationwide comparison of the main categories (extent of interlinking, teacher support, general study situation, range of courses offered, integration of theoretical and practical phases), and second for business administration programmes.
