President Prof. Dr. Insa Sjurts becomes new Managing Director of HSBA

As of July 1, 2020, Prof. Dr. Insa Sjurts, President of the HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration, will – in addition to her presidency - take over the position of Managing Director of the Hamburg Business School. She succeeds Dr. Uve Samuels, who retired from the university management on 30 June 2020.  

In addition to her existing duties as President, Insa Sjurts now is responsible for the strategic orientation and commercial management of the HSBA. She is assisted by Immo Schmidt-Jortzig as Deputy Managing Director and Director Academic & International Office, who is in charge of study operations and is responsible for university law issues.  

Dr. Uve Samuels worked for HSBA for 13 years as Managing Director and has continuously promoted the digitalization of the business school. He is leaving HSBA to further expand the innovation platform SQUARE, which he founded in 2019.
