Sixth Digital Toolbox LectureThe future has already begun, it is just not evenly distributed: How digital transformation in healthcare will change the way we practice and perceive medicineWe would like to invite you to our Digital Toolbox lecture series:The future has already begun, it is just not evenly distributed: How digital transformation in healthcare will change the way we practice and perceive medicine (in English)Lecturer: Dr. med. Tobias Daniel Gantner, Founder and Managing Director, HealthCare Futurists GmbHWednesday, 10 October 2018, 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.Audimax, Handelskammer Innovationscampus Hamburg, Adolphsplatz 6, 20457 HamburgWe cannot expect the digital age to start when we are ready for it. We already are in the midst of it. All of us have digitally adopted lifestyles and are more or less in sync with some software and hardware. Does this also hold true for healthcare? Do we expect doctors to be replaced by artificial intelligence? Do we want digital therapies to become mainstream alongside with pharmaceutical products? Will we see the rise of computer generated biomarkers and online retail pharmacies selling 3D printed mass customized medication? Will we have acoustic biomarkers that by the sound of our voice reveals our blood glucose level? Will we solve the debate on unconditional income by selling our health data to the industry? What sounds like colorful science fiction for some or a dystopian future for others might be reality rather sooner than later.Regardless what our individual take on digital transformation, big data, artificial intelligence, the internet of medical things, digital health literacy, patient empowerment and digital medical ethics might be, forming an opinion and engaging in discussions is a good starting point in understanding the future and shaping it as an active part. This lecture will have a look on science and technology as well as economy and legal challenges always not neglecting the innate ethical aspects that all things health need to live up to.Dr. med.
