Anniversary: 10th Hanse Boat Race

For its tenth anniversary HSBA will compete against Jacobs University in an intense rowing competition on the Alster and they have the chance to lead by 7:3 in the total score.

HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration and the Jacobs University Bremen started with the Hanse Boat Race (before: Hanse Rowing Cup) on the Outer Alster in the year 2008. With the race, both universities from Hanseatic cities want to demonstrate their special relationship and the sporty competition between them.

In the style of the classic Anglo-American university tradition, the two universities hold the Men's Eight race on the Alster accompanied by three shorter pre-races (Women's Double Skulls, Women's Four and Men's Four)

Main sponsor of the Hanse Boat Race is the Buss Group GmbH & Co. KG. Furthermore the event is supported by the Georg Duncker GmbH & Co. KG. The rowing club Allemannia von 1866 is partner of the HSBA Rowing Teams. The execution of the event is supported by the Ruder-Gesellschaft Hansa e.V. as well as our media partner alsterradio 106,8 rock ´n pop.

Next to the main race between the Jacobs University and HSBA (approx. 4.45 pm), three more races will take place under the motto "Hamburg against Bremen". With music from the HSBA band, entertainment from the Cheerleaders Elbpearls and the Social Committee and a barbecue as well as a bouncy castle a nice framework for the event is offered.

Be there together with our partner companies, friends, students, alumnis, professors, lecturers and staff and take part in cheering on our Hamburg team in the race against Bremen!
