Summer Schools are short study offerings (usually between three and twelve weeks) by a foreign university which generally take place in the summer months of July and August and are held in English. A fee is payable and the Summer Schools are open to students and interested persons from all over the world. The contents on offer depend on the university. In addition to the academic course offering, there is a varied programme of events that provide an insight into local culture. Students are responsible for organising registration, travel and accommodation themselves. In principle, HSBA students have the option of taking part in a Summer School. Over a hundred HSBA students have already taken advantage of this option in the past. The "download" section on the right Hand side provides information on some Summer Schools that HSBA students have participated in as well as other non-binding suggestions. To prepare, you can also take a look at the reports by former Summer School participants. Feel free to suggest a Summer School that fits your individual requirements (see also credits).
Applications are made directly to the foreign university. At HSBA, you therefore only have to submit the completed “Studienaufenthalt im Ausland” (study-abroad) application form which you will find in HSBA Connect. It is best to submit the application together with the application form "Antrag auf Anrechnung von im Ausland erbrachten Leistungen" (Recognition of study courses taken abroad) for recognition of grades obtained abroad. We recommend that you submit these applications approximately six months before the Summer School commences. Please also be aware of all under "Organisatoin" listed steps.
