Country

"I love the French language and way of life: for hours they sink into restaurants and then run through the crowded metro stations," enthuses so HSBA student Mirjam D., who spent the winter semester 2013/2014 at a French university. France is known for its high quality of life, impressive art treasures, culture and excellent education and health system. Baguettes & berets, camembert & cafés, snails & champagne, red wine & smoking, frogs & flirt experts - whether all this really makes a typical Frenchman? See for yourself!

City

Le Havre: This picturesque coastal town with 200,000 inhabitants is the largest city in Normandy. The beautiful beaches and a town centre, selected as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, combined with numerous nightlife options, are just some of the reasons why Le Havre is always worth a visit.

Caen: The Normandy metropolis is a truly historic place. The old town is more than 1000 years old. The most famous inhabitant of Caen, William the Conqueror, had the castle and two abbeys built here. Later, in the 14th century, the city was besieged by the English and later in time, in 1944, the city was the scene of the Second World War, where many buildings were critically damaged. Today the historic old town is surrounded by new buildings of light sandstone and many parks, which is why it’s called the "green city". In only 15 minutes you are on the coast and in two hours even in Paris.

Paris: Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Versailles, Moulin Rouge and Disneyland - Paris is a multifaceted city and one of the most important tourist destinations in the world (42 million visitors to the Paris region in 2012). The fifth largest city in Europe (2.2 million inhabitants) is also the most densely populated (22,000 inhabitants/km²). Parts of the banks of the Seine as well as the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the Castle of Versailles are impressive UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Oxford: Historic buildings, history, culture and of course the world-famous university, make Oxford one of the hotspots for students. Approximately 42,000 students from all over the world give the city a unique flair of knowledge and of course, lots of parties.

"Old school young mind" is the motto of EM-Normandie, which has shaped the university for over 147 years. 3,500 students are enrolled here at the 5 locations. The international orientation with double degrees abroad and more than 200 university partnerships in 65 countries also testify to the excellence of EM-Normandie. Among the many accreditations of EM Normandie, the AACSB is one of the most important in the world.
