Prof. Dr.-Ing. MSc. Kati Herzog

Short Profile

Prof. Dr.-Ing. MSc. REM+CPM Kati Herzog has been responsible for the professorship Real Estate Management & Leadership since October 2018 and is the Academic Head of the MSc Real Estate & Leadership since December 2019.

After graduating in civil engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt (TUD) and the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland), she received her doctorate in 2005 from the TUD on "Life Cycle Costs & Sustainability". From 2006 to 2008, Kati Herzog completed a part-time Master's degree in Real Estate Management & Construction Project Management (REM + CPM) at the University of Wuppertal and the University of Reading Business School (UK). The three modules provide Kati Herzog with interdisciplinary knowledge of construction and real estate management over the entire life cycle.

Kati Herzog has several years of experience in employee and company management as well as in the construction and real estate industry with projects in Germany, Austria and the UK. As a manager in various line and staff functions, she has particular expertise in the areas of building consulting, business development and project management of integral projects (including interfaces to operations). Until 2018, Kati Herzog worked in the Corporate Solutions division of Apleona Real Estate Management. Until 2017 she was a member of the Executive Board of Apleona Bauperformance GmbH (formerly Bilfinger Bauperformance GmbH) as Head of Business Development & Key Account Management.

Kati Herzog has been involved in the topic of Sustainability & Energy Efficiency since her doctorate. Today, she is an accredited auditor and expert for Green Building & Real Estate portfolios and is involved in various leading construction and real estate associations and networks as well as universities - striving for a close exchange between science and practice / business.
