Sport is big here at HSBA - and you can't get any bigger than the Olympics. We now have four students or alumni that have taken part in the Olympic Games: the hockey players Moritz Fürste, Florian Fuchs and Janne-Müller Wieland as well as rower Eric Johannesen. If you're not quite up to Olympic standard, don't worry, the Hamburger Hochschulsport has a series of courses for a broad range of sports - including basketball, sailing and volleyball among many others.
Participation in sport is particularly encouraged at HSBA, mainly because we believe that sport not only assists our students to feel their best, but that it also helps them to perform at their best, developing concentration, stamina, and team spirit.
HSBA has adopted rowing and hockey as two of its key sports, working with the Uhlenhorster hockey-club and the rowing club "Allemannia von 1866" with student teams participating in large annual events like the Hanse Boat Race and the Anglo-German Hockey Trophy.
In addition, students have the chance to test their sporting ability at numerous sporting events such as the Bucerius Law School Champions Trophy or the WHU Euromasters.
Our students can join a wide choice of sports. Here is a small selection:
