With the beginning of the academic year on 1 October, HSBA will start four new Master's degree programmes: the Master programmes "Finance", "Business Development", "Digital Transformation & Sustainability" and the Bachelor's degree programme "Insurance Management".
In addition, the HSBA is proud to present its first PhDs: In 2017, the first graduate completed his doctorate as part of the cooperative doctoral programme, two more students did the same this year. In addition, two of the three doctoral students were awarded prizes for their doctoral theses.
"I think that developing four new study programmes in one year and successfully launching them is not something that many colleges can achieve," said a delighted Professor Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz, President of the HSBA, at the ceremony. "We can be proud of that, and I would like to thank all the professors, students and companies involved in the conception."
Partner companies of HSBA include Airbus, Barclaycard, Hapag Lloyd, Budni, Hamburg South or HSV, but also smaller and medium-sized companies. The fact that the Hamburg economy places great faith in the university is also reflected in the extremely successful development of student numbers: While 75 students were enrolled at the founding of the HSBA 13 years ago, there are already around 980 students in 2018.
