For the seventh time, our HSBA Summer School on Corporate Social Responsibility, organized by the Chair of International Business Ethics and Sustainability, will take place in Hamburg this year. The Summer School offers students from all over the world the opportunity to spend two weeks dealing intensively with the topics of business ethics, sustainability and CSR.
We spoke to professor Sarah Jastram and doctoral student Zara Berberyan, our hosts of the Summer School, to learn more about it:
Why is HSBA’s Summer School on CSR Management important in today’s world?
In today’s globalised economy, which is increasingly facing serious CSR concerns, we believe that it is very important to stimulate a discourse and equip young professionals and students with the necessary skills and knowledge that will allow them to reframe CSR risks into opportunities.
What are the main highlights of the summer school?
Some of the most important highlights are lectures by renowned business experts and academics from the University of Oxford, HUGO BOSS, Transparency International, Hapag-Lloyd and many others. Also we offer several field trips, case studies and project works as well as a unique chance to meet young leaders of sustainability from all over the world.
Why is the summer school relevant for young professionals?
Young professionals will have the opportunity to discuss the latest global trends and developments of CSR with top industry experts as well as work on real consultancy projects and receive an individualised feedback from CSR Directors,
