Systematic and scientific support in decision making in complex situations (complexity management).
The seminar starts with a practice-based introduction to the topics of information economics, systems theory and cybernetics as tools for systems thinking and systems dynamics. Based on this, participants familiarise themselves with various modelling concepts and simulation models and are given an opportunity to apply these to matters in their own company. There is a special focus on presenting feedback structures and system-inherent non-linearities. The seminar allows participants to bridge the gap between theory and practice by working on an integrated case study. They are given the opportunity to use modelling and simulation to explore complex scope in decision making and test the robustness of alternative strategy designs, leading to better, more considered decisions and thus to optimised corporate management.
