The focus of this seminar is on mathematical modeling of these networks and on the application of solvers to find optimal solutions (Microsoft Excel solver will be applied). After an introduction to the basics, participants will mostly work on practical exercises. In addition, several case studies from maritime logistics will be discussed.

 To participate in this seminar no specific mathematical knowledge is required. Foundations of the programme Excel are of an advantage though.
