The HSBA master’s students in the study courses MSc Business Development, MSc Finance, MSc Global Management & Governance, the Executive MBA (EMBA) and Shipping (MBA) have the opportunity to take part in the mentoring programme which experienced executives from Hamburg offer them.Within the framework of the mentoring programme, students can ask questions concerning their current professional background, the reconciliation of work and family life or questions on their personal development. Furthermore, students can expand their network through contact to their mentor or other mentors and make valuable contacts for the future.All participants are prepared for their role as either mentor or mentee in workshops and regular exchanges during the many different events make for a vibrant programme.

The mentoring programme for the study courses MSc Business Development and MSc Finance is offered by the HSBA Alumni Association. HSBA’s Alumni are experienced (young) executives from different industries and branches.
The HSBA Alumni Association connects all of HSBA’s graduates and gives them the opportunity to keep in touch with former fellow students and to enhance and broaden their network, thereby including students from other years. HSBA’s Alumni are excellent sparring partners for MSc students. Mentees especially benefit from the mentors’ experience of a dual or part-time programme at HSBA in combining work, studies and personal life. The students from the MSc Real Estate & Leadership benefit from a special funding and networking programme involving members and partners of the Real Estate & Leadership Foundation e.V.. It promotes academia, research and education in inter-disciplinary leadership topics of the real estate sector in a broad framework (with regard to properties, projects, employees) and the corresponding finding of means. The mentoring programme for the master’s students of the MBA Shipping is offered by the Verband Deutscher Reeder (VDR), i.e. the German Shipowners’ Association. Students can particularly benefit from the networking possibilities and discussion of their own professional challenges with their mentors from the maritime industry.The VDR is a central association of the German economy. It was founded in 1907 in order to allow for a joint and consistent representation of interests. With its more than 220 member companies, the VDR represents German shipping industry as the fourth biggest merchant fleet in the world. The majority of its member companies is characterised as medium-sized companies.
