Start of the bachelor programme "Versicherungsmanagement" in April 2018 (in German)

It is the first part-time bachelor programme for the insurance industry in Northern Germany

Hamburg, 9 November 2017 - The first part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Insurance Management in Northern Germany will start in April 2018. It will be offered at the HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration in cooperation with the Berufsbildungswerk der Versicherungswirtschaft Hamburg (BWV) e.V.. The new degree programme was developed in close consultation with the Hamburg insurance industry.

This is a special offer for insurance clerks who have already successfully completed further training to become a specialist in insurance and finance. The Fachwirte can enter directly into the 5th semester of the Bachelor's programme and acquire an industry-specific university degree in 27 months. The degree of the Fachwirt is fully credited. The target group of the new study programme are employees from insurance and brokerage companies as well as sales and consulting firms. "The study programme has been developed specifically for the needs of employees in the insurance industry and is characterised by its high practical and application orientation," says Marcus Janßen, Managing Director of BWV Hamburg e.V.. "50 per cent of the course content is directly related to the insurance industry. This comprehensively prepares employees for future specialist and management tasks in the office and field service," emphasises programme director Prof. Dr. Florian Elert from the HSBA.

The lectures for the part-time Bachelor's programme in Insurance Management take place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. In addition, there is a block week every semester. The tuition fees are 425 euros per month. The programme begins on 1 April 2018, and the application phase starts now.
