Lecture series Rethinking Business: Zeitgeist Dynamics

On 25 April, the second event of our lecture series on rethinking the economy took place.

Zeitgeist researcher Kirstine Fratz inspired us with her thoughts on a generative zeitgeist: According to Fratz, this type of zeitgeist is a creative force that detaches itself from reason and the preservation of existing systems in order to follow individual and ultimately collective desires instead. Thus, this type of zeitgeist is an expression of a constantly evolving society that has higher, healthier demands for quality of life as well as connection and strives to realize them. 

In order to progress the engendering zeitgeist and contribute to cultural evolution, Kirstine Fratz encourages us to:

  1. perceive the strange and the controversial with an astonished gaze
  2. avoid judgement and to question which desires play a role instead
  3. to grant generosity of development in the process
