Prof. Dr. Inga Schmidt-Ross and Andreas Karstens receive award for excellent teaching

Congratulations! During the Dies Academicus, which took place yesterday for the second time this year, Prof. Dr. Inga Schmidt-Ross and Andreas Karstens were honoured with the HSBA Teaching Award. The Teaching Award is presented every year to teachers who receive particularly good evaluations from our students. For the first time, the prize was awarded to both a member of the faculty and a lecturer.

Prof. Dr. Inga Schmidt-Ross has been a professor of general business administration with a focus on marketing and sales at HSBA and head of the Marketing Transformation department since 2009. From 2012 to 2019, she served as Vice President for Teaching, Quality Assurance and Executive Education. Prof. Dr. Schmidt-Ross currently teaches the modules Customer Management, Responsible Marketing, Sustainable Marketing and the elective subject PerspektivWechsel.

Andreas Karstens has been a lecturer at HSBA since 2008, teaching the modules IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Excel, Cost Performance Accounting, Powerpoint, Quantitative Methods and Operations Research. He also supervises the advanced mathematics course and the maths revision course.

This time, the Dies Academicus was dedicated to the topic of sustainability in teaching. Prof. Dr. Manuel Rupprecht, Dean of the MBS Münster Business School at the Münster University of Applied Sciences, gave a guest lecture on the topic of ‘Motivation, experiences and limits of sustainability reporting according to PRME’. This was followed by various practice-oriented workshops and a lively exchange on teaching and research.
