At the first HSBA Annual Conference last week, outstanding results of current HSBA research were presented, ideas and projects from the fields of sustainability, digitalisation and innovation were discussed and new impulses for future research projects and cooperation with our valued partners from business, politics and civil society were set. The Ingeborg Gross Graduate Center was also officially opened at the start of the conference. Since the beginning of the semester, this centre has brought together all activities relating to HSBA's part-time, cooperative doctoral programme.
HSBA Annual Conference 2024
‘I would like to thank all participants and speakers for their valuable contributions to this conference, which made the day a wonderful event,’ said Prof Dr Sarah Jastram, initiator of the conference and Vice President for Research and International Affairs at HSBA. ‘Despite many worrying developments around the world, I am sure that through an intensive exchange such as we have experienced at this conference, we will find solutions and new ways together to master the necessary transitions to a sustainable future.’
In addition to the presentations of research projects by HSBA doctoral students and professors, the keynote speech by social scientist and economist Lucia Reisch, Professor of Behavioural Economics and Policy at the University of Cambridge, was one of the highlights of the day. In her presentation ‘Can we nudge to net zero?’, the behavioural economist presented the latest research findings on the topic of nudging and discussed the question of how to motivate exemplary behaviour as effectively as possible and how to meet the challenge of ESG issues being increasingly less heard.
Between the sessions and at the colourful après with vernissage, there was ample opportunity for networking and creative exchange. The Art Show with artworks by artists from Affordable.Art.de - including works by Prof Dr Sarah Jastram - added an inspiring dimension to the conference and offered participants a creative framework to continue their lively discussions.
We would like to thank all speakers and participants for their valuable contributions as well as our partners and sponsors Affordable.Art.de, Ingeborg-Gross Stiftung, Management Institut Dr A. Kitzmann and Schill + Seilacher ‘Struktol’ for their generous support.
