The graduation ceremony is an important event in the lives of our students and one of the most significant celebrations at HSBA. This year's graduation ceremony took place, as in the previous year, in the light-flooded Börsensaal of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, which, with its imposing architecture, provided the perfect setting and made the moment unforgettable. A total of 191 Bachelor's and almost 30 Master's students, as well as two doctoral students, were presented with their well-deserved degrees, complete with gown, sash and beret, and then toasted their future with family and friends.
‘We are delighted to be able to congratulate our excellent students today in this beautiful setting,’ said Prof. Dr. Tim Goydke, President of the HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration, in his welcoming speech.‘In the past few years, they have not only learned the theory, but have also gained first-hand practical experience and proven that they can bridge the gap between knowledge and application. We wish our graduates all the best for the future.’
The highlights of the evening included the tribute to student engagement and the honouring of our top students, as well as the speech by Master's students Jessica Behl and Lena Damm, and the symbolic handover of the baton from the previous Bachelor's student representatives to the new generation. Isabell Gizewski and Phil Groher handed over their roles to the year representatives Kai Hemp and John Julius Semmelhaak, who will now be representing the interests of the entire bachelor's student body for a year.
We would like to thank all participants and supporters, such as the Association of Friends and Supporters of HSBA, for their valuable contribution to this unique evening. Special thanks also go to Britta Siemer, Partner Assurance at Ernst & Young (EY GmbH & Co. KG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft), who was on stage as a representative of our cooperation companies, to Astrid Nissen-Schmidt, Chairwoman of the HSBA Board of Governors, who presented the awards to our top graduates, and to Mats Brandt, Chairman of the HSBA Alumni Association, for honouring the students who have shown particular commitment to HSBA by getting involved in one of the student committees.
Last but not least, a big thank you goes to our wonderful HSBA band for providing the musical accompaniment, which gave the evening a very personal touch.
