Graduation 2025: HSBA Celebrates Its Graduates

Formal farewell ceremony for all graduates in the trading hall of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce

The graduation ceremony is one of the academic and emotional highlights of the degree programme. This year, it was once again held in the light-filled Stock Exchange Hall of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, which provided the perfect setting for this unforgettable moment. Over 300 students from the Bachelor's and Master's programmes and one doctoral student successfully completed their studies at HSBA this year.

“We are delighted to be able to bid farewell to and congratulate our outstanding students today in this festive setting,’ said Prof. Dr. Tim Goydke, President of the Hamburg School of Business Administration. “Over the past few years, you have impressively demonstrated your ability to successfully put scientific theory into practice. This is an outstanding achievement that we would like to honour together today. We wish our graduates all the best for the future.’

At the beginning of the ceremony, the President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Prof. Dr. Norbert Aust, addressed the graduates and emphasised the importance of the Chamber of Commerce as a meeting place for business and science. Highlights of the evening included the honouring of student engagement and the awarding of the best of the year, as well as speeches by Master's students Maya Kaufholz and Matthias Mang and the symbolic handover of the baton from the previous Bachelor's student representatives Kai Hemp and Julius Semmelhaak to Sithka Tamme, who, together with Steven Frank, will now spend a year representing the interests of the Bachelor's student body. After the ceremony, all graduates threw their berets into the air for the traditional class photo and gave free rein to their joy and relief.

We would like to thank all participants, speakers and supporters, such as our President Prof. Dr. Tim Goydke, our Vice-Presidents Prof. Dr. Max Johns and Prof. Dr. Sarah Jastram, and the Association of Friends and Sponsors of HSBA for their valuable contribution to this unique evening. Special thanks also go to Florian Osterloh, People & Culture Director Germany & Cluster DACH at Reetsma / Imperial Brands, who represented our partner companies on stage, to Astrid Nissen-Schmidt, Chair of the HSBA Board of Governors, who honoured our top students, and to David Frikin, Deputy Chair of the HSBA Alumni Association, for honouring the students who have shown particular commitment to HSBA through their involvement in one of the student committees.

And, of course, we would like to thank the HSBA band for the musical accompaniment, which gave the evening a very personal touch.
