Since 2010, researchers and young academics from the network of German-speaking research centres and institutes for family businesses have been exchanging views on current research topics and practical issues relating to family businesses and their entrepreneurial families at the annual FIFU conference. The conference is very popular in the community as a platform for interdisciplinary academic exchange and is now taking place for the first time at the Hamburg School of Business Administration (HSBA) after a break of more than a year due to corona.
FIFU 2023 Conference of German-speaking Research Centres and Institutes for Family Businesses
"We are delighted that we can finally meet and exchange ideas in person again at the popular FIFU conference. It's even nicer that we can use HSBA's new campus in the heart of Hamburg for this," says Prof. Dr. Peter Klein, HSBA Professor of General Business Administration with a focus on family businesses and organiser of the event. "The academic discourse on current research work but also on the future of family businesses will take on a central role this year. That is why we have chosen the motto Families.Business.Change."
The focus of the 12th FIFU conference is on ongoing projects and research work around the field of family businesses, which will be reflected upon and discussed together. Another central topic area is the examination of interdisciplinary topics on the future of family businesses in times of diverse challenges.
All researchers are cordially invited to submit current research projects dealing with questions on family businesses and their entrepreneurial families as abstracts. A separate call for papers will follow by email.
