Fast-Track Master’s Degree: Graduate in Just Two Years

From the 2026 academic year onwards, HSBA will offer afast-track Master of Science in Innovation Management for students who wish to complete their degree in a shorter time frame. This compact study option allows students to graduate within four semesters (two years), while maintaining the programme’s academic rigour, quality and depth.

‘We want to make the Master’s programme as flexible as possible for prospective students. With the Fast Track option, we are offering an additional pathway for those who wish to focus their studies and complete their Master’s degree within a shorter timeframe,’ says Professor Dr Tim Goydke, President of the Hamburg School of Business Administration.

Programme Director Prof. Dr. Max Johns adds: ‘Our fast-track format is particularly attractive to students who wish to use transitional phases as a springboard for further academic qualification. For international applicants, a four-semester programme offers greater planning certainty and fewer structural barriers – while maintaining the highest standards of academic quality and performance.’ 

At a glance: Fast Track Innovation Management

  • Completion after four semesters
  • 13 modules in the first year of study, 5 modules in the second year of study plus thesis and final presentation
  • Average of 25 hours of study per week
  • Classes from Thursday to Saturday and a few full-time weeks
  • Can be studied alongside work

The Master's programme in Innovation Management is taught entirely in English and leads to the internationally recognised Master of Science (MSc) degree. The business administration programme focuses on innovation, management, business development and the continuous adaptation of business models in a digitalised, data-driven and globalised world. In the second semester, students have the opportunity to choose one of six specialisations.
