This year's annual reception of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of HSBA was a very special event. For the first time, not only did an HSBA alumnus present the outstanding results of his dissertation, but representatives of all of HSBA's student committees were also present to make their diverse engagement for the student body and the university visible to all members of the association and those who want to become members.
An Evening Full of Inspiration and Commitment - Annual Reception of the Association of Friends and Sponsors (VFF) of HSBA
After a warm welcome by Mattias Schmelzer, the association's chairman of the board and CEO and spokesperson of the board of KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, all attendees were able to enjoy the autumnal buffet before Dr. Hans Jaich began his inspiring lecture. In it, he highlighted the effects of corporate sustainability on the private and public behaviour of employees, which he examined in a real-world laboratory study in his own company. His motivation: to contribute to socio-economic transformation. For his research and the resulting impulses in the field of sustainable tourism, Hans Jaich's family business was awarded first place in the German Tourism Prize in 2023, among other things.
Another highlight of the evening was the opportunity for those present to talk to the representatives of the student committees in person. Lasse Nöggerath and Sydney Kloppenburg, the two heads of the Executive Committee, gave a charmingly presented brief overview of the student activities and then also engaged in discussions. The Entrepreneurs Club, the Event Committee, the Finance Club, the Social Committee, the International Committee, the Logistics Network Committee, the Merchandise Committee, the Trade Fair Committee, the Sports Committee, the Sustainability Committee, the tutors, Women in Business, the Studentenfutter Podcast and the HSBA Band – they all contributed to making the evening a special experience. The guests were impressed by the diversity and commitment of the students and enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. Kay Siering, a long-standing member of the VFF, was among them:
‘The exchange with the students was very inspiring. It is great to see how passionately they engage with the different topics in the respective groups.’
A big thank you to all participants, but especially to KPMG AG for their generous support and for providing their premises, which made this wonderful evening possible. We look forward to next year!
