HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration has appointed Dr. rer. nat. Andy Witt as Professor of Business Informatics with a focus on digitalisation. Andy Witt has many years of experience both in imparting knowledge at universities and in developing and implementing the latest IT and digitalisation technologies, especially in the area of product cost calculation and cost engineering.
Andy Witt becomes new professor for Business Informatics with a focus on digitalisation

"We are very delighted about Andy Witt's appointment to HSBA! With his many years of professional experience and excellent expertise in the development of software systems and database solutions for companies, as well as his expertise in the field of big data, he is a great asset for our faculty and our students," comments Prof. Dr. Alkis Otto, HSBA Interim President, on the appointment.
Andy Witt researched and taught for over four years at the Technical University of Hamburg in the fields of computer science, technical vibration theory, nonlinear dynamics and mathematics for engineers. He continues to be very active in wave research and is highly motivated to share his knowledge and experience from research, development and his professional practice as the founder and managing partner of CALC4XL GmbH with students.
"I am very much looking forward to returning to the pulse of a university and to teaching, because at HSBA I can perfectly match my knowledge from practice with academic classes," explains Andy Witt. "I am convinced that you can not only impart knowledge to students via good, modern didactics, but also inspire each other to shape the future in a sustainable way."
About Andy Witt
Since studying computer science engineering at the Technical University of Hamburg with a focus on applied mathematics and applied physics, Professor Witt has been working on information technology solutions to scientific problems and researching Big Data analysis, digitalisation of production, artificial intelligence and sustainable industry. From 2013 to 2017, he taught and did his PhD at TU Hamburg on the application of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation to water gravitational waves to physically explain the phenomenon of extreme waves that emerge "from nothing". Andy Witt is the founder and managing partner of CALC4XL GmbH, whose namesake product cost calculation software CALC4XL makes it possible to develop a sustainable, cost-effective strategy for product optimisation.
