At the turn of the year, the HSBA management appointed Prof Dr Oliver Schnittka as the first Affiliate Professor and Dr Hans Jaich as the first Affiliate Research Fellowat HSBA. With the newly introduced Affiliate Fellowship Programme, the university is systematically expanding its national and international research network, strengthening academic exchange and increasing the visibility of its research activities.
Affiliate Fellowship Programme: HSBA Expands its Academic Network


‘We are delighted to welcome Prof Dr Oliver Schnittka and Dr Hans Jaich as new affiliates of HSBA. Both are long-standing academic partners of HSBA and are distinguished by their outstanding expertise in both research and practice-oriented teaching,’ says Prof Dr Sarah Jastram, Vice President for Research. ‘The new affiliate programme is an important building block for underpinning strong national and international research alliances. The aim is to make our academic network more visible and to involve outstanding personalities more closely in HSBA's research work.’
Prof Dr Oliver Schnittka, Affiliate Professor, is Professor of Marketing and Branding at the University of Southern Denmark in the Department of Business and Sustainability. He received his doctorate and habilitation from the University of Hamburg in the field of strategic brand management. His research findings have received numerous awards and been published in renowned international journals. He has been closely associated with HSBA for many years through the cooperative doctoral programme and advises the university as a member of the Academic Advisory Board.
Dr Hans Jaich, Affiliate Research Fellow, completed his doctorate in Sustainability Management & Ethics on the implications of a growth-limited economy for operational success factors and strategic options for action in the HSBA's cooperative doctoral programme under Prof Dr Sarah Jastram. In his doctoral thesis, he examined the effects of corporate sustainability on the private and public behaviour of employees, which he investigated in a real-world laboratory study. For his research and the resulting impetus in the field of sustainable tourism, Hans Jaich's family business was awarded first place in the German Tourism Prize in 2023, among other honours.
