HSBA was founded in 2004 by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and started its studies at Campus Alter Wall 38 together with 20 partner companies and 60 students. Today, with more than 300 partner companies and 1,000 students, it is one of the most renowned business schools in Germany and makes a decisive contribution to securing Hamburg as a business location. In the anniversary year 2024, numerous events and activities will be offered that deal with the topics of digitalization, artificial intelligence, sustainability and internationalization relevant to the sustainable development of the university and look to the future.
20 Years of HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration
"Together with our partner companies, we have educated more than 3,500 students over the past 20 years, many of whom have gone on to pursue impressive careers," says Prof. Dr. Tim Goydke, President of the Hamburg School of Business Administration. "We are really proud that our university is now a permanent player in Hamburg as a center of science and business. A success that we could only achieve together with our partner companies and sponsors, our professors, our students and our alumni. We are very grateful to them all."
Alexander Birken, Chairman of the Otto Group Executive Board and former Chairman of the HSBA Board of Trustees, has been an early supporter of the university's dual study model: "Since 2004, Otto has trained more than 100 students together with HSBA, many of whom are still working in central positions today. HSBA promotes committed young talents who, thanks to the optimal combination of theory and practice, are employed in the company immediately after completing their studies. This is essential for Hamburg as a business location and its companies."
HSBA is the dual business school in Hamburg. It offers dual Bachelor's and part-time Master's degree programmes in business administration, a cooperative doctoral programme, application-oriented research and continuing education at university level.
