The HSBA master’s students in the study courses Global Management and Governance (MSc), the Executive MBA (EMBA) and Shipping (MBA) have the opportunity to take part in the mentoring programme which experienced executives from Hamburg offer to them.
Within the framework of the mentoring programme students can ask questions concerning their current professional background, the reconciliation of work and family life or questions on their personal development. Furthermore students can expand their networh through the contact to the their mentor or other mentors and make valuable contacts for the future.
All participants are prepared for their role as either mentor or mentee and regular exchanges during the many different events make for a vibrant programme.

The mentoring programme for the master’s students of the MBA Shipping is offered by the Verband Deutscher Reeder (VDR), i.e. the German Shipowners’ Association. Students can particularly benefit from the networking possibilities and discussion of their own professional challenges with their mentors from the maritime industry.
The VDR is a central association of the German economy. It was founded in 1907 in order to allow for a joint and consistent representation of interests. With its more than 220 member companies, the VDR represents German shipping industry as the fourth biggest merchant fleet in the world. The majority of its member companies is characterised as medium-sized companies.
