Admission Requirements
The MBA Shipping study course is open to applicants of diverse academic backgrounds, having to fulfil different entrance requirements. Please refer to your specific background
- Applicants with a four-year university or comparable degree
- Applicants with a three-year university or comparable degree
- Applicants with a vocational training or comparable degree
Application Process
Step 1: Written Application
Step 2: Telephone Interview
After inspecting the documents, a thirty minute telephone interview will take place, during which the motivation for and all questions relating to the study course will be discussed.
Step 3: Admission Day
The personal aptitude and the analytical skills of the applicant will be examined in-depth within the framework of the Master Admission Day which takes place monthly in Hamburg.
Step 4: For applicants without a University Degree: Entrance Examination
To ensure that applicants without a university degree possess the required academic skills, they have to pass an entrance examination prior to admission. The Entrance Examination comprises a homework of 10 to 15 pages, written during the course of 4 weeks, in which the applicant elaborates upon management topics related to his current activities and a half-hour oral examination in which the assignment is defended . Additionally, a two hours written exam has to be passed.
Step 5: Admission
Once the Admission Committee reaches a positive decision the applicant will receive a offer to start the MBA Shipping. The offer may be subject to availability of study places.
