Students at the HSBA have a number of great advantages over students from other universities:
Financial independence
The companies finance their studies by paying the HSBA tuition fees. The students have to make only a small contribution, which usually amounts to € 60 per month. In addition, the companies pay the students a remuneration which usually corresponds to the amount trainees are entitled to in that particular business. As a result, they are to a great extent financially independent.
Practice-oriented teaching staff
The combination of theory and practice means that the tuition has to be differentiated. The professors and lecturers at the HSBA are highly qualified economists; there are also lawyers and trainers from the participating companies.
Ideal learning conditions
Learning must also be fun, so the students learn in bright, modern and friendly surroundings in the HANDESLKAMMER CITY CAMPUS, not far from business life on a green-field site, but opposite the Hamburg Stock Exchange and very close to the City Hall, banks and many trading and service companies in the Hanseatic city, the gateway to the world. But students also have access to one of the most comprehensive libraries. The Commercial Library of the Chamber of Commerce has a stock of more than 150,000 volumes and is thus the third-biggest economics library in Germany. Students can use the reading room and borrow important textbooks.
Additional qualifications
Other, professionally useful qualifications can be acquired in addition to the international Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree:
Graduates of the HSBA have the opportunity subsequently to study for a Master’s degree at renowned private and state universities at home and abroad.
