HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We are dedicated to protecting your privacy when processing your personal data. Any personal data collected when you visit our webpages is processed by HSBA solely in accordance with the statutory provisions. We want you to always know when we store data and what data we store as well as how we use this data (transparency principle). For this reason, we will briefly describe below how HSBA processes your data and what this means specifically for you when using our services.
Personal data refers to individual information concerning natural persons that allows inferences to be made regarding their personal, economic or actual circumstances. This also includes address data as well as contact data for example. It does not include information that cannot be connected directly with your real identity (e.g. visits to preferred websites or numbers of users on a site).
All publicly accessible sections of our website can be visited. User authentication is not necessary for this purpose. It is only when you register for one of our personalised services that we ask for your name and other personal information. Otherwise it is not possible to provide these services. Entering the data is thus voluntarily, but necessary for registration. All personal data provided by you will be handled in accordance with the applicable data privacy laws. The data will be processed solely for the specific purpose. The data will not be passed on to third parties. Exceptions apply when it is necessary to pass on the data in order to process your requests.
We use an automated statistical analysis tool that serves to measure and analyse the visits to our website. To do this, we use your IP address with the intention of gathering technical data including data concerning the internet traffic, the browser used and the computer. This anonymous data is stored separately from personal information on secured internal systems and thus does not allow any inference to be made regarding an individual person. This collection of data serves solely to gear our website to the needs of our users in the best possible way. Personal information is not linked to anonymous data, nor is linked personal information analysed.
Use of social media plugins
We have introduced corresponding buttons to allow you to share our pages comfortably using social networks.
Twitter: Our website uses the Tweetmeme button, which is provided by MediaSift Ltd, Building L033, London Road, University of Reading, Reading, RG1 5AQ, UK. The button can be recognised from the light-blue “t”. The Tweetmeme button allows Twitter users to share our content via Twitter. When you access a page on our website that contains such a button, your server establishes a direct connection with MediaSift’s servers. The content of the Tweetmeme button is transferred by MediaSift directly to your browser and integrated in the website by the browser. We therefore have no control over the scope of the data collected by MediaSift using the plugin and therefore provide information to you based on our knowledge. According to our knowledge, only the IP address of your connection and the URL of our website is transferred when you press the button, but for no other purpose than to display the button.
Revocation of consent
You can also revoke at any time and with immediate effect your consent to the collection, processing and use of your personal data. If you have provided your personal data to us (e.g. when subscribing to a newsletter), you can simply have this data deleted again at any time. To do this, use the unsubscribe form, send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at + 49 (0)40 36138-700. After you have confirmed the security question, we will permanently delete all of your data in relation to this service.
